SO
IS IT ANY GOOD THEN?
Probably the quintessential season of ER, the major
cast still features the likes of Clooney, Margulies and Edwards and the
things that hooked us in are here in abundance, in particular the
budding romance between Dr’s Hathaway and Ross as well as Dr
Benton’s involvement with Carla Reese although it can seem overly
soapy at times with the often convoluted love lives of the doctors
taking precedence . What really sets ER apart though is that adrenalin
pumping action inside the emergency room, never has it seemed more
realistic when a split second decision can mean life or death, frantic,
nerve jangling and tense as all get out it’s truly thrilling stuff.
The excellent William H. Macy is also a semi regular in
this season and Laura Innes also became a regular character, this season
also pretty much cleaned up at the Emmys winning three of the key awards
including Outstanding Drama Series.

Extras are generous and feature two new docos ER The
Specialists: Fear of Flying and The Nurses Station; Cut Ups is a gag
reel, there is a trailer for the new ER Video Game as well as two audio
commentaries.
