ANYONE
IN IT WE KNOW?
Max
and Milly of course
WHAT’S
IT ABOUT THEN?
A
second helping of the pre-school
show about the oversized Max and
Milly having adventures on the
farm they run and helping there
animals Henry the Horse,
Charlotte the Chook, Dash the
Duck, Shirley the Sheep, Percy
the Pig and Daisy the Cow.
SO
IS IT ANY GOOD?
With
its bright and pastelly colour scheme New MacDonalds Farm is guaranteed
to catch the attention of any pre schooler (especially mine), add to the
mix some catchy sing along songs and interaction with foam farmyard
animals and you’ve got a hit on your hands.
One thing I like about
NMF is that each episode is a learning one, making heavy use of
co-operation and helping each other as Milly and Max examine various
things on their farm, from strange footprints to the snow falling. Max
and Milly themselves would appear to be of indeterminate age – old
enough to run a farm but innocent
enough to the ways of
the world (did I mention that the pair have oversized foam heads), there
are also a healthy amount of song and dance routines on each show which
add to your child’s entertainment value.
Whenever
buying a DVD for your toddler you have to ask yourself is this something
I can stand to see 3 million times and whilst you may find yourself
singing the Weather Song at odd moments on the whole Fun in the Country
doesn’t wear out its welcome.
