WHAT’S
IT ABOUT THEN?
More
stories of young single mom
Lorelai, her super-achieving
daughter Rory, her elitist
parents Emily and Richard, and a
whole town of dreamers and
eccentrics. New faces also come
to Stars Hollow, including
Luke's nephew Jess, whose
rebelliousness offends the town,
but whose passion for books
attracts Rory.
SO
IS IT ANY GOOD?
An
air of tension hangs heavy in the air of the second season of this
always entertaining drama series as Rory falls for new boy, the
rebellious Jess, and Lorelai finds herself with a bit of a love triangle
on her hands, unsure of her feelings for teacher Max (Scott Cohen) and a
re-stirring of feelings for Rory's father Christopher (David Sutcliffe).
The
show isn't just about the Gilmore's though as there is a nice ensemble
feel to the whole production with Stars Hollow feeling like a real
place. The
scripts
are pretty knockout too, one of the best written series on US TV in fact
packed to the gills with throwaway lines and pop culture riffs. This
wonderfully packaged 6 disc set of season two episodes consolidates and
then builds on the promise of the first season. Real must see TV.
