ANYONE IN IT WE KNOW?

Graham Norton, Katie Holmes, Sharon Stone, Joan Rivers, Chris Rock, MacCauley Culkin, Sandra Bernhard

WHAT’S IT ABOUT THEN?

Graham Norton takes the format of his popular channel 4 show - celebrity guests and embarrassing internet or phone related shenanigans and takes it to the USA, this new release from Target pulls together the highlights from the 13 episodes that were broadcast on US cable channel Comedy Central.

SO IS IT ANY GOOD?

Previously unseen in the UK, the material on this new release proves that no matter where he is or who he is talking to Norton is the ultimate cheeky bugger, outrageously camp, celebratory about his campness even, Norton is also genuinely funny.

The format is simplicity itself, your basic late night chat show set up but Norton is quick to subvert it, he makes heavy use of modern technology, the internet, hidden cameras and the like to introduce his guests to a seamier

side of life, for example one segment sees him persuade Sandra Bernhard to be the voice for a realistic life size sex doll he has placed (fully clothed) in a bar to see if she can chat somebody up and yes that is as surreal as it sounds, Norton can be a little excessive at times and it is clear that sometimes his guests just don't know what to make of him - the audience love him though and throughout the disc he is up amongst them persuading them to spill shockingly rude and occasionally disgusting revelations from their lives. He more than passes the laughter test though, more laughs per segment than many a classic sitcom. If you're already a fan of Norton's then this is destined to be essential if you are new to him then it certainly works as a great intro to his style. Worth checking out.
