ANYONE
IN IT WE KNOW?
David Hasselhoff / William C3PO Daniels as the voice of
KITT / Edward Mulhare
WHAT’S
IT ABOUT THEN?
The Knightmeister returns for a second season, all 21
episodes across three double
sided discs that see Michael and
his amazing car KITT (which has
a top speed of 300mph and can
leap fifty feet into the air)
doing battle with evil trucks,
crooked art dealers and master
criminals.
SO
IS IT ANY GOOD?
Probably
the key Knight Rider season, the time when the show really found it’s
feet, the cast comfortable and the producers willing to play with the
genre for example the first episode Goliath is a hoot as David comes
face to face with not just monster truck Goliath but also his evil
doppelganger Garthe (naturally played by Hasselhoff with pointy goaty
beard to emphasise the evil aspect) who was the protype for the surgery
altered Michael. This two part episode sets the standard for the rest of
the season (in fact Michael and KITT tangle with Goliath again in
Goliath Returns – hey it was good the first time, lets do it again).Special mention must go to the episode Knightmares which sees
Knight losing his memory and trying to pick up the threads of his old
life, a lot of the episodes have a who dunnit feel too as Michael and
KITT investigate various murders but the formula remains intact, Michael
will meet a girl, have a spot of fisticuffs, possibly lose KITT and then
KITT will come and save the day.
It’s all very enjoyable and watching it now with my
13 year old daughter (who has become a major fan of the show) has
allowed me to see the magic that the series really has, rather than just
the kitsch factor (although that also adds to the fun). A definite must
add to the collection.
ANY
SPECIAL FEATURES?

from the digipack of season one to the new better slimline jewel case
