ANYONE IN IT WE KNOW?

Peta Wilson, Roy Dupuis,Don Francks, Matthew Ferguson, Eugene Robert Glazer, Alberta Watson

WHAT’S IT ABOUT THEN?

After being framed for the murder of a cop Nikita (Wilson) finds herself drawn into the highly top secret government organization section one, given a special deal (the organization trains her to become a top agent and if she disagrees they kill her – can’t say fairer than that really can you), codenamed Josephine Nikita finds herself becoming a government assassin targeting terrorists and international criminals.

SO IS IT ANY GOOD?

Based on the movie of the same name by Luc Besson it’s easy to be drawn into Nikita’s world, as a clear forerunner of shows such as Alias and 24 (itself put together by the team behind La Femme) the show has more than its fair share of paranoia. Wilson is superb as Josephine/Nikita, the Australian born actress handling the depth of characterization but still able to kick it when required. Like any good drama series there is an air of sexual tension that hangs over the series thanks to Nikita’s relationship with her immediate superior Michael Samuelle (Roy Dupuis), Samuelle has the hots for Nikita but are his feelings genuine or part of some underlying plan of Section One’s, lets face no one in the organization can be trusted.

Nikita didn’t work completely on her own either backing her up were strategist Madeline (Watson), computer whiz Birkoff ( Ferguson ) and weapons specialist Walter (Francks).

A top class drama, this second season 6 disc box set from Warners contains all 22 episodes of the second season, is more relevant than ever in this crazy world we live in, do yourself and favour and spend some quality with the La Femme Nikita.

ANY SPECIAL FEATURES?

Extras come in the form of commentaries on the first and last episodes of the season from executive consultant Joel Surnow, there are deleted scenes (on disc 6) introduced by director Jon Cassar and there is also a bloopers reel.
