Part
of the America Undercover series seen on HBO Cathouse (which
incidentally proved so popular that a sequel and a full series followed
soon after) makes heavy use of hidden cameras to show what life inside a
brothel is actually like from the way the girls line up like cattle to
be chosen to the negotiations that take place before the action can
commence, these segments are actually pretty funny as the matron of the
Ranch Madame Suzette (one couldn’t help but notice that she wasn’t
actually French) comes in with her clipboard to collect the money. As is
usual with HBO this is very near the knuckle stuff with bad language and
nudity well to the fore.
Brothel
owner Dennis Hof seems to be trying a bit too hard to prove that what he
does is a legitimate business (and make no bones about it this is big
business) and does come out with statements that are strange to say the
least, he clearly loves what he is doing though (April 2002 saw the
Ranch take over a million dollars worth of business!!)
