The
big question is "Who shot JR?"
WHAT’S
IT ABOUT THEN?
By
the time of it's third season
finished Dallas was the biggest
show in the world, the show
makers captured the attention of
media and viewers throughout the
world by the simple expedient of
a brilliant cliffhanger
involving main character JR
Ewing being shot by
an
unknown assailant, creator David Jacobs came up with the plotline by
chance but it worked superbly, the cast were kept in the dark and
multiple endings were filmed so no one could be quite sure just who did
shoot JR. Season Three follows the
Ewing
clan through power struggles, dubious business deals, infidelity,
kidnappings, as every thing builds up to the gripping gripping season
finale.
Dallas
premiered in 1978 and soon became an international phenomenon, airing in
over 130 countries around the world and over its 14 seasons,
Dallas
garnered 17 Emmy nominations and four wins, 14 Golden Globe nominations
and one win, and was the #1 or #2 rated network series for five
consecutive seasons. Modern day TV makers should
episodes
of shows such as Dallas on constant play, a great reminder of the days
when substance meant more than flashy cinematography and 15 shots a
second, this is proper drama with themes dating back to Shakespeare.
Don't miss it.
