ANYONE IN IT WE KNOW?

Scott Cohen (Dave), Annabeth Gish (Greta), Paulina Porizkova (Lily), Tara Reid (Emily)

WHAT’S IT ABOUT THEN?

Dave and Greta have just moved house hoping to make a new start.  Things are not perfect between them but neither of them know why or can bring themselves to discuss it.  And so things carry on as before until ...

They go out on a double-date with Dave's friend Jake (Michael Leydon Campbell) and his date for the evening Lily.  Lily is a supremely confident woman and she and Greta hit it off.  And then one day soon afterwards when Dave comes home early he finds the two women in bed together.

SO IS IT ANY GOOD?

It's a good story about a couple going through a crisis of sexual identity and their feelings and attitudes towards each other.  On the periphery of the main story are Dave's two friends:- the aforementioned Jake, and a photographer called Cal .  Jake cannot get a regular girlfriend and everyone he dates seems to end up sleeping with one of his friends instead (even Lily!).  Cal is a womaniser who wants to settle down with his girlfriend Emily.

Paulina Porizkova is fantastic as the confident woman lawyer who seems to treat others with an air of amused playfulness, manipulating people and situations just to see what will happen.

It's marketed with the tag line "A sex comedy with a twist".  But I'm not sure that's very fair.

It certainly doesn't set out to be a comedy and whilst there are some amusing moments it's really just a good interesting situation drama.  And over here certainly the term "Sex Comedy" conjures up images of something completely different with the cheeky "Confessions of" type films of the 1970s.

Not a one.
