ANYONE IN IT WE KNOW?

Grayson McCouch, Adrian Paul, Amy Locane

WHAT’S IT ABOUT THEN?

Financial Analyst Tom Weaver (Grayson McCouch) is working late at his office where he has been conducting a shady transaction with a business partner (Adrian Paul).  After midnight he goes to get his car in the multi-level underground car park and his problems begin.  His car won't start, the lifts won't work, the stairs are locked and the car ramps are being guarded by an enormous jeep-like truck that proceeds to stalk and attack him as he tries to make his way out of the car park.  His ordeal lasts long through the night as Tom desperately tries to stay alive and work out (in flashbacks) who wants him dead.

SO IS IT ANY GOOD?

It's an OK thriller. Somewhat derivative of Spielberg's Duel with an unseen truck driver again stalking a hapless victim - although a reason for it all is revealed in the end (unlike in Duel).  Sometimes Tom's dilemma seems a little forced as there often seems like there should be ways to flee the truck using the strategy that film characters never seem to consider - TOM! don't try and outrun the truck - just side-step it when it gets close and then run up the ramps in the opposite direction before it has time to turn and chase - then repeat for each level as required.  That would probably have made for a short and boring film though.  The entire film takes place in the car park barring some flashback scenes featuring his girlfriend (Amy Locane).

The star is Grayson McCouch who is possibly a newcomer - he is a suitably square-jawed handsome leading man type - for followers of British police drama The Bill he looks a bit like Scott Maslen (DS Phil Hunter).  Amy Locane and Adrian (Highlander) Paul are familiar names but otherwise it’s a mostly un-starry cast.
