WHAT’S IT ABOUT THEN?

Without question one of the finest sitcoms of the 1970's if not of all time, Leonard Rossiter shines brilliantly as Reginald Iolanthe Perrin whose mid life crisis leads him to fake his own death.

Certainly a cut above your average sitcom, Perrin is serial in nature and was based on Nobbs own early 70's novel The Death of Reginald Perrin, Reggie lives a normal suburban life in a normal suburban house and works in middle management at Sunshine Desserts where he is browbeaten by his clearly insane boss CJ who started each sentence with "I didn't get where I am today by..", Reggie spends much of his lusting after his secretary Joan (Sue Nicholls) and imagining his mother in law as a hippopotamus, stressed out and headed for his mid life crisis Reggie leaves his clothes on the beach and fakes his own death.

For awhile Reggie becomes a tramp but soon gets a job working as a pig farmer, however, it isn't too long before he his pining for his old life he creates a new identity for himself, complete with fake beard and wig and decides to woo his wife all over again.

Incredibly funny and very very clever Reggie Perrin is full of classic moments and has more catchphrases than you can shake a stick at - if you have never seen fall and rise and are a fan of British comedy then you are going to have just discovered your new favourite show, if you are already familiar with the series then you already know that this is a must have.
