WHAT’S IT ABOUT THEN?

The first set of episodes from season two featuring the five teenage superheros led by the boy wonder himself, Fear Itself is the opening episode and the disc also features five others and the rest of the team is made up of Cyborg, Beast Boy, Starfire, and Raven and together they must battle against all manner of evil doers.

Plotwise the episodes feature such delights as the gang tangling with the Killer Moth and his teenage daughter, villains from the future, a rival teen hero and giant robots.

This set of episodes is also important as it introduces new character Terra who ends up joining the Titans but possibly has ulterior motives.

Teen Titans is one of the new breed of animations, heavily influenced by Japanese anime but is actually based on 1980's DC Comics series The New Teen Titans. It's chief asset is its ability to mix top flight action with low brow comedy moments, another enjoyable aspect in these episodes came from the quality of the voice cast who are clearly enjoying their superhero roles.

Whilst aimed at the junior audience there is enough here in terms of plotting and characterisation to appeal to all animation fans. Well worth a look.

ANY SPECIAL FEATURES?
