The
premise of the series is that
powerful witch Samantha has
married a mortal, much to the
dismay of her family, and is
trying to live a normal suburban
life, of course she simply
cannot resist using magic
whenever she gets the chance,
her husband Darrin is an
advertising executive and is
forever trying to get Samantha
to curb her witchly ways.
This
third season, the first in
colour, is released in a four
disc set by Sony and focuses on
the burgeoning magic skills of
Darrin and Samantha's baby
Tabitha and the ever present
interfering of Samantha's mother
Endora (who even moves in for
one episode) and her absent
minded Aunt Clara who can seldom
get a spell right.
One
of the real highlights is the
episode A Most Unusual Wood
Nymph which sees Darrin playing
one of his 14th century
ancestors, who is quite the
opposite of Darrin's usual staid
character and of course the
episodes that feature the
brilliant Paul Lynde as
mischievous Uncle Arthur are
always great fun.
