Similar
in surface style to Designing Women albeit the shows aimed at different
audiences and Living Single is important simply for the fact that for
the first time really on American TV that a group of black women
were seen as living as normally as everyone else. Really though the show
is probably most similar to Friends and includes just as many laughs per
episode as that show, one interesting bit of trivia worth noting is that
during season one the
set used was the same set used on the sitcom, Family Matters.

Any
Special Features?
The
only extra featured on the set is a 13-minute documentary called
"How Ya Livin'? Season one of Living Single," which
features new interviews with series creator Yvette Lee Bowser and some
of the cast members (but not Queen Latifah).
