WHAT’S
IT ABOUT THEN?
The misadventures of the loveable but somewhat clumsy gorilla, resident of Mr Peebles Pet Shop, was a Saturday morning staple for much of the sixties and was one of the first breed of shows to have merchandising possibilities and tie-ins integrated from the start (something that would of course later run riot in the 80's and 90's).

In every episode Mr Peebles is rather keen on selling Magilla and keeps on lowering his asking price rather than have Magilla keep eating up his profits, quite often Magilla will get bought or hired for various adventures but always manages to end up back at Peeble's pet shop; A little girl called Ogee really wanted to own Magilla but could never quite afford to buy him.
Despite not being as well remembered as other Hanna-Barbera shows Magilla Gorilla has plenty of heart and packs in plenty of laughs over the course of the episodes.
Trivia: Ogee's voice is provided by Wilma Flintstone herself Jean Vander
