WHAT’S IT ABOUT THEN?

Night Court, which ran from 1984-1992, is a high quality ensemble comedy that revolves around the staff of New York's Manhattan Night Court, Harry T. Stone is the flip judge who never plays it by the book, clerk of the court is Lana Wagner who has a

major crush on the judge, court matron is the no nonsense Selma and the court bailiff is Nostradamus "Bull" Shannon.

Very funny, there is a general air of organised chaos in the Night Court and more than a whiff of insanity. Despite its unlikely setting it's easy to see why this sitcom was hugely popular, thanks in no small part to creator Reinhold Weege who was also behind the legendary Barney Miller, both of these series share some very sharp and witty dialogue. The feel of the show is pitched somewhere between Cheers and Taxi

The disc contains six classic episodes from across the run of the series. These are All You Need is Love – Season 1 (aired January 4, 1984 ); Her Honor, Part 1 – Season 4 (aired April 29, 1987 ); Her Honor, Part 2 – Season 4 (aired May 6, 1987 ); Death of a Bailiff – Season 5 (aired October 15, 1987 ); Who Was that Mashed Man? – Season five (aired November 19, 1987 and features a guest appearance by Teri Hatcher) and Fire – Season 6 (aired November 2, 1988 )

The new TV Favourites range from Warners is a great idea, very reasonably priced they give you the opportunity to sample series that you might not otherwise be tempted to buy at full box set price. Recommended.
