WHAT’S
IT ABOUT THEN?
It doesn't get any better than this surely, one of the
finest sitcoms of all time and some of its greatest episodes. The show was initially a half hour sitcom but by this seventh series had really outgrown its roots. David Jason stars as Delboy Trotter and

Nicholas Lyndhurst is his younger brother Rodney. Although the boys were still trying to make their fortune the show had widened out considerably by series 7 (which apart from the numerous specials would be the last series proper), with both the boys having partners, Del has Raquel and Rodney is married to the middle class Cassandra who is doing her best to improve Rodney;
Writer John Sullivan is in complete command of his characters throughout and there are some choice episodes amongst the collection on this two disc set including Chance of a Lifetime sees Delboy deciding to help Racquel get back into showbusiness (she was a wannabe actress when they met) only to learn he is going to be a dad! Stage Fright is another Gem with Raquel agreeing to a one off singing performance at a club with an old singing partner only for Del's choice of song (Crying by Roy
Orbison) to prove problematic for a singer who can't pronounce his R's! with a Class of 62 brings back the evil bent copper Roy Slater for a dodgy school reunion;

He Ain't Heavy, He's My Uncle piles of the pathos as Uncle Albert goes missing but best of all is the finale 3 Men, A Woman and A Baby which is just pure delight and sees Delboy becoming a father for the first time and would have to be marked down as one of the best hours of TV ever wioth its moments of sheer farce to genuine tear jerking moments when Delboy holds his son for the first time and promises to give him everything he never had. This episodes garned a huge 20 million audience in the UK on its first broadcast.
Truly hilarious and with a huge rewatchability factor Only Fools and Horses is essential viewing.
