THE LOWDOWN

Three more feature length specials featuring Britain's favourite sitcom family.
Miami Twice: When Rodders receives an unexpected windfall, it strikes Del as the perfect chance for a trip of a loifetime to sunny Florida. However, despite sun, sea and 79 TV channels, the boys soon find trouble. Luckily their new friends - a top-notch Italian-American family - are around to help...

Mother Nature's Son: Now with a new Trotter to support, Del needs some inspiration to clear his Christmas cashflow problems. It arrives at Grandad's old allotment - Peckham Spring Water! There's serious bunce to be made in bottled mineral water, even if it comes from a tap. Now all he needs to do is get rid of those smelly old barrels of yellow liquid cluttering up the allotment...

Fatal Extraction: Marital affairs have taken a turn for the worse for the Trotters. Rodney finds himself exhausted by Cassandra's punishing procreative schedule, while Del finds himself single again. Late nights and one too many Harvey Wallbangers have left his marriage on the rocks.

THE VERDICT

Living in England throughout the 1990's one of the real highlights of the TV viewing year was the BBC's Christmas schedule, prime position of which was given over to Only Fools and Horses. John Sullivan's show was so popular that these specials would pull in audiences of well over 20 million.

These three date from the later years of the show when both Del and Rodney have family commitments and the initial format of the three generations of males living together has long since gone. The cast of supporting characters are just as important as the three leads and all of the specials are just brilliant. Hilarious and not to be missed.
