Hard to believe really tha the Oprah Winfrey Show is 20 years, celebrating this amazing feat comes a mamoth 6 disc set from Paramount Home Entertainment, the beginnings of the show actually go back even further than 20 years to when Oprah was hosting a

local US show called A.M. Chicago and was soon beating Phil Donahue in the ratings, in 1985 the title of the show became The Oprah Winfrey Show and went into Syndication and the rest, as they say, is history.

Oprah has always had a conscience and most episodes of the show will typically involve an emotional issue with particular relavance to women and of course she has never shied away from her own troubles, especially with her weight and even admitting in the mid nineties that she had taken crack cocaine as a young woman. The set has a good mixture of human interest stories (some of which will have you bawling your eyes out) and celebrity stuff, pretty much every A-List celebrity in Hollywood has appeared on the show at one time or another.

This is a great idea for a box set, the kind of thing that doesn't get enough exposure on DVD.
