WHAT’S IT ABOUT THEN?

Whether you fall into the creationist camp or the scientist camp the origins of life on Earth is something that man has been trying to understand since there was life on Earth. This 2 part documentary from Roadshow-SBS, presented by Astrophysicist Neil

DeGrasse Tyson (from the American museum of Natural History) heads straight into big bang territory with the first instalment Back to the Beginning with two teams of scientists embarking on a quest to trace back the "cosmic echo" of the actual big bang that scientists believe started it all;

The second half is called Where Are The Aliens and questions whether extra terrestrial lifeforms exist or not.
This supremely interesting release throws up as many questions as it answers, if there is something out there why hasn't it made itself known, is there another Earth like planet laying somewhere outside our solar system and are the inhabitants stuffing it up as badly as we are doing -

the most interesting section of the whole thing comes with the examination of the recent discovery of planets outside our solar system and a new technique that can help evaluate whether or not they can sustain life.

I did enjoy the arguments stirred up by Origins and it does make you think. Recommended.
