ANYONE IN IT WE KNOW?

Lots of beautiful kangaroos!

WHAT’S IT ABOUT THEN?

The last thing you'd expect of a typically English couple is to up sticks and devote their lives to looking after injured and orphaned Kangaroos well that's just what Carol Lander and Roy Hands have done, living in a small bush town in Southwest Australia, the couple

have spent the last eight years building an every growing family of Western Grey Kangaroos (and also other animals too), they've also been filming the experience too - not just for the DVD but also for an ABC series too.

It's beautiful and at times heatbreaking watching the couple nurse injured Joeys back to life and their are some great tales of sacrifice and survival, narrator Colin Friels binds it all together and the show works on numerous levels, its a very watchable docusoap (every day brings fresh challenges) but its also full of beautifully evocative wildlife footage, they may be one of our best loved marsupials but we do take them for granted and most people don't actually know that much about these truly fascinating creatures.

Prepare to be not just entertained but to also have your heart strings tugged and your eyes opened. Very recommended.

FINAL VERDICT

Tie me kangaroo down sport.
