ANYONE IN IT WE KNOW?

Narrated by John Hurt

WHAT’S IT ABOUT THEN?

A gigantic over view of the universe and cosmos narrated with portentous overtones by the legendary John Hurt, exploring over the course of four episodes everything from the dawn of the universe with the Big Bang theory to the search for signs of

extraterrestrial life, originally seen on Channel 4 in the UK back in 1999 (and released on video the following year) Universe is never less than interesting, making ample use of computer generated images and space telescopic images to illustrate the proceedings.

There are interviews with major names involved in the space business from Stephen Hawking to Apollo 16 Astronaut Charles Duke and Bob Kirshner from Harvard University. The most amazing episode is episode two Stars which looks at the birth of a star - surely one of the most beautiful and dramatic astronomical events ever.
Universe will certainly have you pondering the big questions of life and reaching for the telescope.
