WHAT’S IT ABOUT THEN?

Veronica Mars caught every one by surprise with the success of its first season, the modern day Nancy Drew having a real spark that captured the notice of a normally fickle public, after all detective shows are literally ten a penny. Veronica (played by Kristen Bell) attends Neptune High but also finds plenty of time to work for her father's private investigation business.

A big part of season one was Veronica investigating and solving the murder of her best friend Lilly Kane and the first season itself ended with something of a cliff hanger with Veronica receiving an important unseen (by the audience) visitor; Season two picks up straight from that point but we won't reveal the details suffice to say that the person presence reverberates across the whole 22 episodes of the season. The format continues along the same road with Veronica investigating a big story that carries across the season, that of a bus crash that killed everyone on board but also finding to solve a mystery of the week type thing.

The soap opera factor is ramped up somewhat this season too with a lot more relationship hassles and new arrivals stirring up new feelings (Veronica's best friend Wallace gets a girlfriend in the shape of newcomer Jackie Cook).

There are some quite high profile semi recurring characters this year too in the shape of Harry Hamlin, Charisma Carpenter and Steve Guttenberg but the show really belongs to the teen set. Entertaining and with a definite hook you in vibe that keeps you watching.

ANY SPECIAL FEATURES?

extras are plentiful and include a gag reel, deleted scenes, trailer for season three and two behind the scenes featurettes A Day on the Set With Veronica Mars and Veronica Mars Not Your Average Teen Detective.
