Beach is one of that new breed of hybrid shows, the reality soap,
reality masquerading as Beverly Hills 90210 crossed with Mean Girls or
vice versa.
The
premise of the show, which is seen on MTV, follows the lives of a group
of wealthy kids in Orange County as they go to high school, chill out
down at the beach and generally behave like the spoilt adolescents that
they are.
Laguna
Beach may as well be scripted because it is so obviously shot to suit
the whims of the producers (the kids have even admitted that they have
to let the producers know they are about to dump someone, something
which happens fairly regularly of course).
Kristin
is the leader of the group and she draws you in with her antics, whether
it be leading her ex along or stealing one of her friends crushes but
she does face competition from the Hiltonesque new girl.
