NAPOLEON DYNAMITE - LIKE, THE BEST SPECIAL EDITION EVER!
Distributor: Paramount Home Entertainment

Certificate: PG | Region: 4 | 2 disc set

Extras: Heaps

cast
Jon Heder, Jon Gries, Aaron Ruekk, Efren Ramirez, Tina Mojorina, Diedrich Bader

Teenager Napoleon Dynamite is more of a damp squib than a hot rocket, living the small town life in Preston, Idaho with his grandma and unemployable older brother, Napoleon does his best to wow the chicks at high school while helping best friend Pedro become school president, there are problems though when his grandma takes a road trip and his meddling uncle Rico comes to stay...

Despite being low key and relatively low of budget Napoleon Dynamite is a movie of enormous charm, Jon Heder as the titular Dynamite is excellent, a fuzzy haired bow Prince William alike in his dodgy tie and ill fitting clothes; Dynamite is a nerd but director Hess revels in his geekiness, there is a certain amount of high school comedy antics involved, especially in Dynamite and Pedro's (Ramirez) dealings with the school president race and their battle with the stuck up Summer (Haylie Duff) but the movie itself is more a celebration of the triumph of the underdog - in the end Napoleon Dynamite turns out to be a nicely feel good movie.

This two disc set has a whole stack of extras; Disc One has an audio commentary by Director/Writer Jared Hess, Actor Jon Heder and Producer Jeremy Coon; Cast Commentary by Aaron Ruell, Efren Ramirez, Jon Gries and Tina Majorino; A making of featurette called The Wedding of the Century! and Deleted Scenes

Disc two features Documentaries, World Premiere is a look at the director; Extended/Alternate and Outtakes Scenes; Casting Napoleon Dynamite, Peluca (which is an original short film by the same crew), Napoleon Sightings; Utah State Fair Ads TV Spots MTV On-Air Promos, Still Gallery and an Easter Egg (What's in Jon's Kool-Aid).
