Series of two-part thrillers about clinical psychologist Dr Tony Hill who helped the police solve cases involving serial killers. He liased with Detective Inspector Carol Jordan and the pair generally worked together in the fictional Northern City of Bradfield. In series 2 the format changed to single 90-minute stories. Premiered 14 November 2002. Robson Green appeared on The Richard and Judy Show Monday 28 Feb 05 @ 5.00pm to promote the third series of the show whilst the week previously on Monday 21 Feb 05 @ 10:30am Hermoine Norris appeared on daytime show This Morning to also promote the show.

SEASON ONE

1. THE MERMAIDS SINGING (Broadcast 14-21 November 2002 / Tuesdays @ 9.00pm)

Clinical psychologist Dr Tony Hill is recruited by DI Carol Jordan to help investigate a series of murders but finds that the other officers on the case are resentful of his place on the team.

2. SHADOWS RISING (Broadcast 28 November - 5 December 2002 / Tuesdays @ 9.00pm)

A body is found in a remote mountain lake, and Carol calls Tony Hill in to investigate. However, before she can get to grips with the case, she is reassigned to stop a celebrity stalker. And as both cases take a turn for the worse, Tony and Carol find that they need each other more than ever.

3. JUSTICE PAINTED BLIND (Broadcast 12 - 19 December 2002 / Tuesdays @ 9.00pm)

Tony crosses swords with Don Merrick over a rape and murder case, Merrick is sure that the killer is someone known to the police but Tony thinks otherwise.

1. STILL SHE CRIES (Broadcast Thursday 12 February 2004 @ 9.00pm)

When one of his own students is kidnapped it compromises Tony's work with the police and even Carol has her doubts when he lets one of his pupils get involved in the investigation.

2. THE DARKNESS OF LIGHT (Broadcast: Thursday 19 Feb 2004 @9.00pm)

Work at an ancient abbey uncovers the bodies of recent murder victims but when Tony and Carol investigate they discover that local legend and superstition is getting in the way of facts.

3. RIGHT TO SILENCE (broadcast: Thursday 26 Feb 2004 @ 9:00pm

The identity of the killer of two people clearly points to a known convicted criminal - the problem is that he is already in jail - is he somehow controlling events from inside? Carol is promoted to Detective Chief Inspector.

4. SHARP COMPASSION (Broadcast: Thursday 4 Mar 2004 @ 9.00pm) 

Someone is out to get the patients of Bradfield Hospital putting the whole city in a panic, Carol and Tony have to try and solve the case quickly - made the more difficult because MI5 are breathing down their necks.

Tony finds that the clues to finding the killer of three young boys lies in the past.

2. BAD SEED (Broadcast: Monday 28 Feb 2005 @ 9.00pm)

One of Tony's former students, a convicted murderer, is released from pirson and he looks like he has quickly struck again when three bodies turn up - the man is now disable and claims to have been rehabilitated, can Tony uncover the truth.

3. NOTHING BUT THE NIGHT (Broadcast: Monday 7 Mar 2005 @ 9.00pm)

Their latest case has left Tony and Carol completely stumped, a series of seemingly unconnected crimes and outside forces also play their part - Tony meets a woman who is not what she seems whilst a case review over seen by Carol turns problematic.

4. SYCHRONICITY (Broadcast Monday 14 Mar 2005 @9.00pm)

Bradfield is at the mercy of a sniper and the media are only making things worse but Tony believes he has an understanding of the killers psyche - the only problem is he and Carol have no idea where the killer will strike next.
