The Changes: The Bad Wires (BBC-1 13 Jan 1975, with Marc Zuber)
In The Bad Wires, with her parents having left for France Nicky is convinced she is all alone in the deserted city, a chance meeting with an old man makes it plain that she too needs to look at how she can get out of the country.
Vicky is fortunate enough to meet up with a party of Sikhs, they are too heading for a safe haven and seem to be unaffected by the mental anguish that Vicky (and everyone else) gets when near anything electrical or mechanical. The group realise that Vicky will be useful for making sure their actions don’t antagonise anyone they come across.
Later Nicky and fellow teenager Gopal go scavenging in an abandoned house but the rest of the Sikh party are far from happy saying that they should not be stealing.
