Follyfoot: The Hundred Pound Horse (ITV 9 Jul 1972, with Marc Granger)
In The Hundred Pound Horse young Tim Shaw (an excellent performance from Marc Granger) is the son of fairground owner Geoff. Tim wants Dora to take in his horse Periwinkle because he is scared his father is going to get rid of it now that it is no longer “pulling it’s weight”.
Despite the fact that the horse is large and ungainly Tim believes that Periwinkle is a former Grand National winner. Meanwhile trouble causing Ron Stryker says a few choice words that causes Tim to run away.
The Follyfoot gang mount a search party but his father seems more interested in getting the money in for his fairground than looking for Tim.
Granger is best known for his role in The Amazing Mr Blunden, surprisingly he didn’t continue with an acting career past the early seventies.
