Writer: Don Houghton / Production Design: Roger Hall / Director: Tony Wharmby

Series: New Scotland Yard
Season 1 Episode 1

In Point of Impact, the opening episode of crime drama series New Scotland Yard Detective Chief Superintendant John Kingdom and his sergeant investigate when a demonstration gets out of hand and a protestor is accidentally killed. Chief suspect is mounted policeman Derek Tyrell and when evidence emerges that he knew the victim and had recently argued with him it looks like it may not have been an accident at all.

Excellent opener that does much to show just how strong Kingdom is as a character, some good names in the guest cast too not least the always quality Bryan Marshall, a very young Mel Martin and a soon to be tomorrow person Nicholas Young.
