Public Eye: Nobody Wants To Know (ITV 6 Jan 1975 with Judy Buxton)
A new title sequence for the final season, which saw Marker back on our screens after an almost two year absence.
In Nobody Wants To Know Martins a prisoner on remand hires Marker (via a solicitor) to track down a girl who can provide the alibi that would set him free. The girl, Janet Harper, doesn’t want to be found however. Not only that there are certain heavies that want Frank off the case too.
It turns out that Martins and Harper are part of a horse doping ring, the leaders of which definitely do not want to be uncovered.
The more Marker finds out the more he realises both himself and Janet Harper could be in trouble. Unusually for Marker he ends up taking a pretty heavy beating at the hands of thugs Jackson and Tarrant. It’s a beating that will have strong repercussions throughout the rest of the season.
