Hard to believe it is already a year since the biggest Royal Wedding ever and Kate Middleton is now firmly ensconced in Royalty avenue, this one off documentary tracks what has happened to the golden couple since their wedding day.

The fairy tale wedding of HRH Prince William and his university sweetheart Kate Middleton on 29 April 2011 caught the imagination of onlookers the world over and was watched by over two billion people. The newlyweds have rarely been out of the headlines since and to celebrate their first anniversary, this exclusive documentary explores the whirlwind 12 months that followed.

The Dean of Westminster remembers how calm Kate appeared on her wedding day: “I daresay she did feel a bit nervous – I mean who wouldn’t at that particular moment – but there was no great sign of it at all. She seemed very calm and very together and utterly prepared for what was going to happen.”

Lady Elizabeth Anson the Queen’s cousin talks about how Catherine is coping with life as a Royal and we also get a rare insight into how William and Kate enjoy life away from the cameras in Anglesey. As Lady Elizabeth Anson explains of their quiet life in Wales: “I think this is a wonderful opportunity for them both to have a life that’s as normal as possible and I think that this is sadly for them probably the short spell in their life when they can really be like a normal person.”

By contrast we also follow their recent high-profile trip Stateside, which charmed the Hollywood elite. “It was William and Kate present themselves to the world and the world had an insatiable appetite for them after that wedding.” Tim Ewart, Royal Correspondent ITV News.
