Stevens V Porton Construction
A case in which the wife of a man seriously injured in an accident at work sues the company, Porton Construction, for damages. The company claims that the man was drunk and wasn’t wearing a safety belt, witness Tom Morgan, a fellow worker, insists that the shed containing the safety belts and that the company are definitely to blame. George Walker, the site forman, when questioned also admits that the shed was kept locked.
Quite a strong story, at first your sympathies lie with the company as the evidence mounts but before too long it is not looking so clear cut.
