the remake of seventies movie Assault on Precinct 13, packing heaps of
action the high octane movie stars Ethan Hawke and Laurence Fishburne.
ABOUT
THE MOVIE
With only a few
hours left in the calendar year, Precinct 13, one of
Detroit
's oldest precinct houses, is closing. Amid heavy snowfall and treacherous
road conditions, only a few lawmen remain on duty for New Year's Eve. They
are headed by Sergeant Jake Roenick (Hawke), a good cop wrestling with bad
memories of a fatal undercover operation from the previous spring.
Earlier
that day, the imposing crime lord Marion Bishop (Fishburne), was captured
and now finds himself being transported to prison on a police bus filled
with other, less notorious, but no less volatile criminals. Almost
engulfed by a fierce snow storm, the bus heads for the relative safety of
the nearest location, Precinct 13, where the bus and its passengers will
wait for the storm to pass.
With the prisoners
locked away in their cells, Roenick and his colleagues find themselves
under attack from a heavily armed, highly trained militia intent on
extracting Bishop at any cost.
To survive the night, these cops and criminals will have to unite
and fight. A classic head-to-head showdown ignites in Assault on
Precinct 13, a re-working of the cult 1976 John Carpenter action/thriller
of the same name.
