The Brothers: Turning Point (BBC-1 14 Apr 1972 with Annette Andre)

In Turning Point David has come up with a possible new contract which could see Hammond greatly expanding. It’s a long term contract with a paint export company called Borret and would mean the builing of a new warehouse and taking on at least 40 new drivers and vehicles. Edward is dead set against but David is determined to persuade the rest of the board to side with him. Meanwhile Brian is having a few personal problems to deal with, he is convinced that Ann has been unfaithful (which she has of course but he doesn’t know for certain) and is determined to have it out with her once and for all.

David, despite his impressive success rate with women, seems to grow camper by the episode but he does well with the new contract even if it seems the managing director of the paint company has his own reasons for wanting Hammond on board. Pretty much a classic episode really finishing with a shouting match at the board meeting and Edward downing a scotch convinced that his brothers have made the first move on trying to oust him.

There is also a bit of a sub-plot with Mary Hammond trying to get closer to her grand-children (Brian’s two kids Nigel and Carol) by taking them to Chessington Zoo but neither are overly interested and come across as a pair of spoilt brats!
