ABOUT
THE SHOW
Allie Henshall (Sarah Parish) has it all, the successful business, a
hairdressing salon, an attentive husband and plans to expand, however
trouble is on the horizon in the shape of Mia Bevan (Amanda Holden) who
sets up a rival salon directly opposite Allie's, not only that her
husband, Finn, happens to be Allie's first love. Before the end of this
first series of 6 episodes lives have been changed for ever and it's
hair dryers at ten paces....
Debbie Horsfield, the creator of
Cutting It, has always had a great handle on strong female relationships
and characters and it is the women who make Cutting It so good.
Confident, sexy and never ones to shy away from trouble. Debbie
Horsfield herself says "I
don’t think any of us
thought that Cutting It
would take off in the
way that it did, I didn’t set out
to second-guess what an
audience would or wouldn’t
like – all I did was
write characters which I
engaged with and I
thought had a lot of
dramatic potential. I
also knew that there
were ingredients which
would prove quite
popular. The fact that a
family was involved
provided additional
conflict, and everybody
seemed to find the idea
of first love returning
into somebody’s life a
fascinating idea."

SEASON TWO
PREVIEW...
Without giving too much away,
the consequences of all the goings on between the four leads in season
one means some major changes for the second season, partner changes and
the introduction of Mia's mother (played by Cherie Lunghi) arriving to
make her presence strongly felt. In fact the second series ups the stakes
and pushes the characters
and narrative to even
greater extremes.. Bring
It On!
