FRIED GREEN TOMATOES AND THE FABULOUS BAKER BOYS

Fried Green Tomatoes: "In the tradition of the Old Southern storyteller, FRIED GREEN TOMATOES AT THE WHISTLE STOP CAFE weaves together distant lives and cherished times. FRIED GREEN TOMATOES is the tale of family and friendship in rural Alabama. It is a remembrance of youth and one young woman's invincible spirit. Like the best of tales, it connects with experiences we all share: weddings and funerals, recreation and retribution, morals, memorable meals, and, of course, the occasional murder.

FRIED GREEN TOMATOES AT THE WHISTLE STOP CAFE - a title which signifies something that brings people together - ends with a deep understanding of the importance of friendships. Friendships which have the power to make family from strangers. And, in the Southern storytelling tradition, friendships forged through the power of words as well as deeds."

Fabulous Baker Boys: Frank (Beau Bridges) and Jack Baker (Jeff Bridges) are professional musician who play small clubs. Times are changing and dates are becoming more difficult to get so they interview female singers. They finally decides on Susie Diamond (Michelle Pfeiffer), a former 'escort' who needs some refinement, but the act begins to take again. While they are now successful, both Frank and Jack have problems with their life on the road. Susie becomes the agent and makes them re-evaluate where they are going, and how honest they have been with each other. When the relationship between Susie and Jack - younger, less committed, but more talented than Frank - briefly becomes more than professional, tensions surface between all three!
