| “George
Lopez,” the hit family comedy starring popular standup comedian George
Lopez, returns to ABC in January 2007, airing Wednesdays from 8:00-8:30
p.m., ET. The series, which begins its sixth season, is from Bruce
Helford, Deborah Oppenheimer and Robert Borden – all from ABC’s
long-running hit comedy series, “The Drew Carey Show” – and
actress/producer Sandra Bullock (“Miss Congeniality,” “Speed”).
George
Lopez is a guy who has made lemonade from lemons at every turn. Since he
became plant manager at an L.A. airplane parts factory, George has
handled a complicated job, a strong but demanding marriage, two
rebellious children, a mother, Benny (Belita Moreno, “Perfect
Strangers”), who can’t keep track of her own lies about his
childhood, and an adult niece with an enormous inheritance and
absolutely no sense of boundaries – all with his sense of humor
intact.
His
affable lifelong compadre, Ernie (Valente Rodriguez, “Erin Brokovich”),
is always there to lend a hand and provide his share of comic relief.
George’s
devoted wife, Angie (Constance Marie), deals with her challenging
long-term marriage, George’s freewheeling approach to parenthood,
Benny’s insensitive wisecracks and the erratic behavior of her adult
niece, Veronica (Aimee Garcia), along with some misguided advice from
her father (Emiliano Díez), with the patience of a saint. |

| Fourteen-year-old
Max (Luis Armand Garcia) maintains the sense of humor he inherited from
his father, and while he constantly tests his parents’ limits, he
revels in the freedom he’s gained since his older sister left home to
go to college.
“George
Lopez” stars George Lopez as George, Constance Marie as Angie, Belita
Moreno as Benny, Valente Rodriguez as Ernie, Luis Armand Garcia as Max,
Emiliano Díez as Vic Palmero and Aimee Garcia as Veronica.
Bruce
Helford, Robert Borden, Academy Award-winner Deborah Oppenheimer, Sandra
Bullock, George Lopez, Mark Torgove, Paul Kaplan, Dave Caplan and Rick
Nyholm serve as executive producers. “George Lopez” is produced by
Mohawk Productions, Inc. and Fortis Films, in association with Warner
Bros. Television. |
