GRAND DESIGNS ABROAD: Le Creuse France

We've all browsed the real estate sites on the net thinking if only but for Denise Daniel and Doug Ibbs window shopping just wasn't enough. Having spotted a huge but highly run down 18th century manor house in the Limosin Department of Creuse in the heart of central France they decided to sell everything in the UK and make a brand new start restoring the house which was last in use as the headquarters for the French resistance in the areaduring world war II.

Host Kevin McCloud s convinced that the project is too big to complete in the year that Deni and Doug have allocated - especially as they intend to do most of the work themselves and given that they are only ust learning the language.

You have to admire their incredible work ethic and envy the chance to build in what looks to be one of the few unspoilt places left in Europe.
