GRAND DESIGNS ABROAD: The Lot, France

The Second episode in the Grand Designs Abroad spin-off with a project featuring a couple, Mark and Debbie Sampson, who are hoping to make a new life for themselves in France (the couple are actually no strangers to France having spent the last 8 years living there but never feeling truly settled in a members of the community).

Debbie and Mark have something of a new age air floating about them and are planning to build a straw bale, eco-style house even though the are they are moving to, The lot, is traditional in the extreme.

Mark is also taking on much of the build himself and with a relatively low budget, straw bales briefly stored in a neighbours barn and bad weather on the way its obvious things may not go smoothly on this build...
