CLASSIC LITERATURE ON FILM PRIZE PACK DVD GIVEAWAY
Shock DVD | Region: 4 | Release Date: April 2011
This month Shock are releasing a series of rather fab classic TV costume dramas under the umbrella Classic Literature on Film and to celebrate we have five great prizepacks up for grabs featuring three of them – Jamaica Inn, Frenchman’s Creek and The Woman in White!
Jamaica Inn is a brilliant 1983 adaptation which stars Trevor Eve and Jane Seymour and takes us back to 19th century Cornwall for a tale of boat wreckers and smugglers. Based on the much loved novel by Daphne Du Maurier this a wonderful version of the story, full of romance and intrigue and high of budget too.
Frenchman’s Creek, made in 1998, is again based on a novel by Daphne Du Maurier stars Tara Fitzgerald and Anthony Delon and is set in the 17th century with Fitzgerald playing Lady Dona St Columbo who returns to her Cornwall home and gets involved with a French mercenary.
Finally The Woman in White is a sumptuous BBC 1997 version of the classic Wilkie Collins thriller (one of the first of it’s kind) about a pair of sisters in Victorian times who get caught up in ghostly stories of a woman in white. The all star cast includes Tara Fitzgerald once again, Justine Waddell, the superb Ian Richardson, James Wilby and Simon Callow.
These tales are all definitely not to be missed!
