The always watchable James Nesbitt is at the top of his game in the excellent medical drama series Monroe which gets it’s first season released on DVD this month and in honour of the occasion we have five copies up for grabs!

Life’s a gamble and genius neurosurgeon Gabriel Monroe likes to play, but can he beat the odds? Working in a contemporary, urban hospital, every day he makes life or death decisions. The stakes are always high in brain surgery and Monroe has no choice but to play the odds. Win or lose, he has to go back into that hospital the next day and take the same risks again.

Each episode features an emotionally charged story of the week and portrays how the fallout from a medical emergency touches the lives of the patient, their family and the staff. At the centre of this stands Monroe, his team, his anaesthetist and his poker school – and his female colleague, heart surgeon Jenny Bremner, who has nothing but cold contempt for him and his ego. Besides Nesbitt the cast also includes the fab Sarah Parish as his chief rival at the hospital Bremner.
