KIDS IN THE
GARDEN
Australia / ABC / 15x5 minute
episodes / 2004
Creator/Executive Producer: Richard Reisz / Music: Sean O’Boyle /
Presenter: Nick Hardcastle / Director: Colin Grubb
Presenter Nick Hardcastle, in a series of short five minute interludes,
teaches kids the basics of gardening and how to have fun in the garden. A
fantastic idea for a series this, the perfect introduction to all aspects
of gardening and garden fun; Kids in the Garden comes under ABC’s
Gardening Australia banner and presenter Nick Hardcastle doesn’t take
things too seriously, each only runs for five minutes but cover all the
gardening basics from learning how to plant seeds and how plants work,
learning how to press flowers, growing vegetables and everything inbetween.
There is a good emphasis on actually doing with plenty of projects to get
your children involved in – its never too early to show kids that
gardening can be fun and Dig It certainly acts as a great primer, the
segments are also entertaining enough for the whole family to get
something out of and whatever your age.
