Animated scifi drama series. A group of mutants with extra special powers fight evil and crime. The team were led by Professor Charles Xavier. Based on a Marvel comic that first appeared in the 1960's. Two very big budget movies have since been released (with Patrick Stewart, Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry et al) in the ealrty 2000's.

A science game show in which two teams of schoolchildren have to calculate the expected results of experiments (e.g. how high will a rocket go) and gain a score equivalent to the percentage of accuracy they achieved. Presented by Ortis.

 

XUXA

Xuxa - Sexy Brazilian model-turned-kiddie-show hosted this show based on her successful South of the border program that was popular with millions of children in Latin and South America. The program featured games, songs, and educational film shorts. Xuxa's message to her younger viewers was "Be happy...forget about bad things...and all children have rights." Her real name is Maria da Graca Meneghel. Xuxa (Pronounced SHOO-sha) is her childhood nickname.

Yogi first appeared as a short segment on The Huckleberry Hound Show.

Puppetry. The adventures of Captain Bilge and his crew on the ship The Rubber Duck; Bilge's crew included Cutlass, Mr Jones, Crow, Booty and Poop. The only dialogue the puppets spoke were Yoho and Ahoy.

Comedy. Sketch series starring young kids from The Anna Scher Children's Theatre. Kids who later went on to better things included Paline Quirke and Linda Robson as well as Ray Burdis. Pop band Flintlock ( a pet project at the time of Roger Price's) and comedian Jim Bowen also featured each week.

THE ZETA PROJECT

Natural History. Dr Desmond Morris introduces variious animals to viewers, the shows were broadcast from London Zoo and later Chester Zoo. Harry Watt (in 1966) and Chris Kelly (1967) also presented.
