A MISER BROTHERS' CHRISTMAS
Warner Home Entertainment / Region 1 / Out nowGrowing out of the much loved 1974 Rankin-Bass special The Year Without a Santa Claus is this new, destined to be a family favourite, holiday special A Miser Brothers' Christmas. Broadcast on ABC Christmas 2008 and now out on DVD, the story takes two of the main characters from the earlier special, brothers Heat and Snow Miser and has them desparately trying to stop their evil brother North Wind from getting rid of Santa Claus for ever!
As the story begins Santa's chief mechanic, Tinsel, has come up with some new modifications on a new super dooper very fast sleigh but whilst out on a test run Santa is downed by the dastardly North Wind who then frames the brothers Heat and Snow Miser. With Santa out of action North Wind is about to step into his shoes only for Mother Nature to put her foot down and make the Miser Brother do the job instead. Of course even though they hate each on the surface the brothers start working together and eventually learn a few things about family along the way.
Filmed in vibrant stop motion animation style A Miser Brothers' Christmas is easily the equal of The Year Without a Claus and is perfect family fare for the festive season. There is a great little featurette included too going behind the scenes of the making of the special.
