Made for the History channel the eight part series looks at the races that over the years have been considered the most barbaric when it comes to conquest. Put together by the renowned documentarist Robert Gardner the series is an incredibly involving glimpse into the worlds of the the Vikings, the Goths, the Huns, the Mongols, the Saxons, the Franks, the Vandals and the Lombards. Narrated by Clancy Brown the series utilising a great mix of re-enactments, interviews with leading historians and location footage.
A must see for any history fan the set also has a trio of great extras, a featurette that focuses on the mighty Genghis Khan, there are also two complete programmes, an episode of Conquest called Weapons of the Barbarians and an episode of Modern Marvels called Axes, Swords and Knives.
