Played to apoplectic perfection by Ross Higgins, Ted Bullpit is your archetypal Aussie male, a kind of take on the ranting bigotry of Alf Garnett. In Kingswood Country, which was hugely popular when it aired during the 1980's and has still remained high in the public consciousness, Bullpit lives with his wife Thelma in suburban Wombat Crescent. Grown up daughter Greta is married to ethnic Bruno much to Ted's disgust but Ted is really only happy when he is tinkering with his beloved Kingswood or training his legendary greyhounds Repco Lad and Gay Akubra.
A hugely enjoyable slice of prime vintage Aussie comedy the nine disc Best of Kingswood Country also offers up some quality extras in the shape of a clip from the infamous Naked Vicar Show which offered up the very first appearance of Mr Bullpit, there is also a gag reel.
