Tatum plays small town boy Shawn MacArthur who heads to new York to make his fortune but instead comes under the influence of con artist Harvey Boarden (the always excellent Terrence Howard) who introduces him to the hard world of street fighting. He soon learns that this is something he has a major talent for.
