LINKSGARDENING AUSTRALIA
Like a freshly dug patch of Earth just ripe for the planting Gardening Australia returns on Saturday 31 January 2009 with a new host in the shape of Stephen Ryan replacing the much loved Peter Cundall.
It's going to be no easy feat taking over from the hugely enthusiastic Cundall but we believe Ryan is going to fit in very well, Stephen has worked as a horticulturist for well over 30 years and has worked in the UK and New Zealand as well as Australia and for years has been a contributor to ABC Radio 774 with their gardening segments.
This year is a particularly big year for the show too as it celebrates its 20th year on the ABC; This first episode takes us in Ryan's own massive garden in Mt Macedon in country Victoria where he also explains his love of plants and the principles that govern his gardening. Also on board are Jerry Coleby-Williams looking at getting the the right balance of nitrogen for your plants; Leonie Norrington visits Kakadu National Park for some bush tucker, Angus Stewart offers up some tomato pruning tips and Josh Byrne visits the Perth garden of succulent mad Neda Rokich who has filled her suburban garden (front and back and even garage roof) with thousands of examples of these plants.
