There is a definite resemblance there so it’s no surprise that Ashton Kutcher is playing Steve Jobs in a planned new movie but like the proverbial waiting for  a bus then three come along at once it seems West Wing creator Aaron Sorkin has also signed on to pen the script for a rival movie.

According to Perth Now the picture is being planned as a major release for Sony, which plucked the Oscar-winning Sorkin right off the back of a string of recent successes.

The West Wing creator won an Academy Award for his screenplay for The Social Network, which he followed up with Moneyball and the much-anticipated HBO series Newsroom.

Sorkin’s delicate touches on Mark Zuckerberg’s character really brought story of Facebook to life, and Sony will be banking on a similar result from the man who made Apple.

“There is no writer working in Hollywood today who is more capable of capturing such an extraordinary life for the screen than Aaron Sorkin,” said Amy Pascal.

Meanwhile the newspaper has also put forward their five choices for who should play Jobs in this version, number 5 – Noah Wyle being our pick having played him already in the Pirates of Silicon Valley.
