Great Houdini, The (ABC 1976, Paul Michael Glaser, Ruth Gordon)
Period drama The Great Houdini was an excellent biographical dramatisation of the life and times of the world renowned illusionist and escape artist that concentrated maybe a little too much with a supposed obsession with the occult (in reality Houdini was a major debunker of the spiritualist world).
Ruth Gordon won an Emmy Award nomination for her performance as Houdini’s mother and Glaser performed all his own stunts.
